This is a self portrait done in charcoal. I was going to do my update on how I made this, but then Open House came around so I figured talking about that is more exciting. Anyways, This got a little messy, it was cleaner when I submitted it. It's one of the best self portraits I've done, if not the best. They put a yellow tag next to it, I'm not sure what those mean. They're on a few peices of art in the show.
The weird wrapped thing up top was mine! I like this more now, I used to hate this drawing. It's done in acrylic paint and charcoal. The assignment was to wrap and object, preferably a stuffed animal or doll, tie it up and draw. (Aunt Judy, this is the bunny you sent me for easter, haha, it seemed small enough at the time!) Morbid? I don't know, but it turned out to a good concept.
This was an assignment due this tuesday that I did early on accident. Oops! the assignment was to "draw something ugly that you wouldnt usually in pastels". So, it's done in chalk pastels. I drew under our bathroom sink, and I'm not sure why we have a can of turpeniod under there... with hairdye and stuff to. Oops. But yeah, my teacher saw it and said.. "You go put that in the show RIGHT NOW." ha, she's sweet.
This one was my favorite, still is. Its kit kats and candy, done in charcoal. Someone hung it in the room food was served in at ass level... so. Someones ass must have rubbed against it to ruin it a tad. I was a little upset, but I can fix it!
Here's what it originally looked like.
Here's a few that I was going to submit to the show but I decided to pick the others:
This assignment was to do a close up/detail of an article of clothing. Was from the begining of the semester done in Vine Charcoal 18/24.
And... I can't find the others on my flash drive. I thought they were..
I just wrote all this so, We'll leave it at this shirt I guess. :)
Miss Elizabeth: What an honor for you (a student in their foundation year) to have so many of your works selected to be in the exhitbit. You should be very proud. I love all of your art. I especially love the self-portrait. It is beautiful. What a talent you have. The Kit Kat is great even if someones ass got onto it. It results in a great story for the future. I also love what you did to the easter bunny. Also, the bathroom sink idea was very creative. I love it. Love always, Aunt Judy
